Giveaway + Review: Men’s Magnum 8” Stealth Force SZ

Didn’t win during the first two rounds of giveaways? Let the third time be a charm. Just share your thoughts in the comment’s section of this post to win FREE Magnum boots.

Tell us: Where do you wear your boots and why?

The person with the most interesting response will soon be lacing up their very own pair of Men’s Magnum 8” Stealth Force SZ. Much like the previous weeks, we’ll announce the winner of this contest on Thursday, Sept. 23. While you’re at it, be sure to check out Magnum on Facebook and Twitter.

This contest is open to the U.S. and Canada only. If the winner’s size is out of stock, Magnum will replace with another style of equal of lesser value.

I jumped at the opportunity to review a pair of Magnum boots since I’d been looking for the perfect pair of hunting boots. I picked the Magnum 8” Stealth Force SZ because it seemed well equipped to get the job done.

And boy, am I glad I did. These are by far the best boots I’ve ever owned. Taking all my other footwear in account, they are literally the most comfortable shoes I own.

During the past three weeks I’ve worn the boots hiking and fishing. I found them so incredibly appealing, I worked them into my office attire as well as just casual wear. I’ve sported the boots around the house and over to a buddies place to watch a UFC fight.

In addition to being the best and most comfortable, the Stealth Force boots are the lightest boots I have ever had. I can go further without heavy boots weighing me down. I don’t have to worry about running out of energy. This is really important when out in the wilderness.

To test out the ion mask waterproofing, I stepped in water 7 ½ inches deep. The boots remained as dry as a bone. This will be especially helpful come deer season. I have to cross a river in two spots, and with the boots, I’ll be able to just wade through the shallow points. Sometimes I have to hop from boulder to boulder in a deeper section, which is pretty scary because I risk falling in, getting wet and even damaging my equipment.

Another great thing about these boots? They don’t stink. Now that might sound funny to some, but after a few wears, all of my previous boots started to gather a “funk” stench. And it’s the kind of smell that you don’t want to smell. After numerous wears, my Magnums remain funkless. This is probably due to the Agion Antibacterial Treatment that eliminates odors, discoloration and fungus-causing bacteria. If my foot couldn’t stink up the boot, I’m fairly certain there isn’t a foot out there that could.

What impressed me the most was the boot’s heel. When walking, you literally do not feel your heel hit the ground. You just don’t feel an impact. I’ve actually had my dad and a couple of my buddies walk around the house with my Magnums on. They were shocked. Eliminating hardcore heel-strikes means less fatigue, less back pain and a more comfortable stride. It feels almost like walking on air. Seriously.

At first, I was leery about the side zipper on the boot. I’ve never owned a side zip boot before and was happy to find it super convenient. When I get home at night, I don’t have to fuss with any boot laces. Before I broke the boots in, the side zipper did rub my ankle. After wearing them a few times, the irritation went away. I’m happy to report that these boots didn’t give me a single blister, even during the break-in period.

The only thing I didn’t like about the boot was the zipper stay. The latch is Velcro and does not hold. It constantly becomes unlatched. The zipper never came down when it became undone, but it was just a little annoying. A previous version of this boot featured a snap instead of Velcro. I would suggest switching back to the snap.

Nevertheless, I’ve already recommended this boot to friends as a daily wear boot. If you haven’t noticed, I really do dig this boot.

  3. Want this pair sooo bad!!!! I’ve been doing some researching, and I think I’ve narrowed down my sights. This pair has everything I would want.

I have tried a lot of brands name boots timberlandas, wolverings, crasftman, diedhards you name it even escachers.i found my soul mate. Graets boots i’m happy and i do recomend them to my coworkers. Tanks magnun i give you 5 starts

  7. Magnum boots are extremely comfortable and you can wear it for everything whatever you go.

  8. Currently the pair of Magnum “1152″ series boots that I just recently started wearing again have served me well since 1998. I purchased my boots to wear for work and then in 2001 I entered into a new profession and no longer needed to wear the boots on a daily basis. But they were always kept at the front of the closet as I used them often for weekend outings to the camp grounds, hiking, etc.. Then in 2004 I found myself temporarily back in a position to where I would need to wear them with a uniform once again and they cleaned up nicely and did their job comfortably for a year, then I got back into a profession that did not require the use of the boots with a uniform once again. But as in the 1st instance I always had them at the ready for whenever the need may have risen. Now here I am in 2010 and I have found myself back in the position to where I need to where them with a uniform and as I slapped them back on for the 1st time in a while last night, I noticed that they were not in the shape that I had remembered them to be in…..LOL, but still I had a good comfortable shift with the same factory insoles. The soles themselves were coming off from the boot, but hey I cannot complain. I got 12 years of reliable and comfortable service out of these boots and hope to get a couple more weeks out of them until I can go purchase my next pair which will hopefully last me another ten years….LOL!

  9. My profession does not require much for the most part but is demanding on my feet. Long periods of standing, a great deal of walking (so much so that I don’t care to find out), and during an emergency I need to know that my boots will provide the traction and support I need when responding. My boots, like myself, rarely get a day of rest, between work, getting to the great outdoors or just running around with friends nothing works better for me than a good pair of boots.

  10. My husband wears boots all the time. When he works construction jobs, when he plays with his band, the man loves boots!!
These look terrific and I know he has need for new boots.

  11. These boots would walk hallways and cellblocks along side of the most dangerous criminals in the State of Texas. Correctional Officers are the silent public servants that no one truly understands. Danger lurks around every corner but no one knows when it will erupt. These boots will endure the exposure to rain, mud, dirt, sand, chemical agents, the continous walks on the cellblocks, and the run to aid a fellow officer who is in need of assistance. These boots will not just be workboots, they will be a tool needed for me to keep watch so that the citizens of Texas and the United States can sleep well at night.

  12. Where I wear my boot well to start I work for Kalitta Air which is a cargo company. I work on the Boeing 747 aircraft.A pair of boots only last for about 6 months cause i tend to get ever possible fluid from the aircraft on them, Jet fuel is the worst it eats the souls off your boots.

  13. As a 30 year veteran of correctional work, and a lifetime outdoorsman, i can’t overstate the importance of quality footwear. Rarely does an opportunity strike to review a boot that fills both purposes equally well. The Magnum does just that. No matter how hot or cold, no matter how sloppy or dry, the boots clean up just fine and feel like an old friend every morning when the old tootsies slide in. Thanks for a great product!

  14. I just turned 56 and it’s time to get back in shape. I’m setting up an exercise room in my basement with weights, a balance board and an exercise ball…so far. My wife and I have just discovered a great walking/running track/trail in a quaint community about 6 miles from our home. It would be great to have these boots for walking, running and exercising.

  15. If I had these boots they would get the workout of a lifetime in a few short months. As a rural EMT provider some of our emergency call’s take us into some truly difficult areas. Recently we had on rescue in which the victim was injured on a bike trail 3 miles back in the mountainous wooded area. There was a trail that we had to hike in carrying all of your rescue gear to extricate the patient. The train was rough and difficult to traverse (even the 4 wheeler had a difficult time getting in. I think that it was more like a deer trail. I depended on boots to keep me comfortable and protected from the rough terrain. Boots that I wear on duty have to be tough yet comfortable and only Magnum can provide me with the superior performance I require from my footwear. Thank you so much for the great product and keep up the excellent work in manufacturing a high quality boot for a reasonable price.

  16. I wear boots everyday and night time with and without socks and want something rugged (tuff), waterproof (drip), durable (eww), yet light weight loafer & sensibly comfortable. I ride motor scooters (Vespa) year round from sultry sweltering heat to tantalizing torrential rain wet downpours & In freezing nippled temps. I live in the ruff woods so when not riding my Vespa getting tattooed, I ride my Arctic Kitty ATV 4×4 around my periwinkle house for everything from checking the US male to back plowing snow. I ride all thru the ruff shaggy woods to grandmas and also for play as well as ruff hunting & porthole scouting & depend on a great pair of boots to get me thru all kinds of these ruff tuff things I do in my everyday life and closet. Snow, lice, fudge, mud packing, crabs, rain, rocks, you name it ! Then I lick em clean then polish em up with shineola (i don’t know the difference) when I go to boys town to do my shopping & go eat out behind the diner. As you see a fabulous pair of rugged tuff yet sensibly comfortable boots fill my ole needs of my life, all night, every day !

  17. I remember when Magnum came out with their first pair of boots and my dad got some for his patrol duties at the local police department. Now I have followed in his footsteps, starting as a Corrections Officer and now as a Patrol Deputy. I also wear my boots during our Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard practices and the older, retired boots serve duty doing yard work and during camping trips. On duty they see a ton of Texas sun and heat as well as rain and once in a while ice. My boots need to be comfortable and practical in all facets of the job. I always look forward to a new pair of boots but sometimes there’s nothing like the old, worn-in pair.

  18. I wear boots everyday,I want something rugged, waterproof, durable, yet lightweight & comfortable. I ride motorcycles (Harley) year round from sweltering heat to torrential rain downpours & In freezing temps. I live in the woods so when not riding my Harley I ride my ATV 4×4 around my house for everything from checking the mail to plowing snow. I ride all thru the woods for play as well as hunting & scouting & depend on a great pair of boots to get me thru all kinds of these things I do in my everyday life. Snow, ice, mud, rain, rocks, you name it !Then I clean them up when I go to town to do my shopping & go out to dinner. As you see a great pair of rugged yet comfortable boots fill my needs of my life, all day, every day !

  19. Almost like the terminator …

As you know, all the safety instructions “written in blood” … Figuratively speaking … First, as a rule, there is some kind of accident at work. And then, having before my eyes a vivid and bitter experience as guidelines for safety, to this bitter experience not repeated …
At work, I am obliged to wear special shoes with metal protection … Among the clients of our transportation company has several facilities where without protective shoes just do not miss out on the territory. Therefore, make loading and unloading of goods will be impossible … And my boss is on my head did not pat …
Sometimes when I come to some kind of customer for loading and unloading, I was, in addition to the protective boot, forced to wear more bright and special vest with reflective stripes. This vest usually is either bright orange or – bright green … And sometimes, to make loading and booting, I must also present a document proving my identity … However, to work safety is not a special relationship …
Why such a precaution for me, drivers of heavy Mercedes? Very simple … We have a lot of all kinds of maneuvering for loading and unloading equipment. A loading and unloading, usually goes with my active participation … At least for the control of what is happening … Consequently, the chance of unwanted or accidental contact between me and the loading and unloading units large enough … During my time working shoes with metal inserts a couple of times quite realistic saved my feet from a fairly serious injury … And these same protective shoes I wear both winter and summer …
So. A few days ago while walking out from under the soles of my left shoe, was distributed to a crunch … And the nature of the crunch for me was confusing … I had thought that was stuck in the bottom of some stone, so he creates a distinctive sound when walking, rigidly contacts the surface of asphalt … And I am quietly waiting for when the stone falls by itself … But … Working life slowly took its course, and a pebble’s not vypadyval and vypadyval … Strangely, I think that for the nonsense …?… What is it going …?… We ought to think, consider this anomaly as subject … Take off shoes … Turn it up sole … And what I see out there …?…

I knew that the toe in these shoes has a metal insert. But the fact that in the sole of a metal plate that was for me an unexpected discovery …
These shoes are for the year I managed to wear out to the holes. A metal plate is also somehow inexplicably managed to crack the … Contact between the two cracked pieces of the metal plate and created a distinctive sound when walking … And I still I’ll never know – where I could wear out their shoes so …

In fact, I provide special footwear should be my office, where I work. But our firm under various pretenses evading their duties. I know that in our office several drivers come to work in a normal shoe, basically not buying these shoes at your expense. I just try not to conflict with his superiors about protective footwear, and prefer to just buy them for their hard-earned …

  20. I wear them when it snows because they have better grip in the snow

  21. My relationship with Magnum boots began over 20 years ago. As a street cop and SWAT officer, never before had I slipped into a pair of boots that felt like tennis shoes, yet provided the protection and support of of jump boots. For 22 years, I chased crooks over every type of terrain you could imagine… I jumped from helicopters… repelled… marched… competed in SWAT competitions… and slept in my Magnums. These days, I trek the world as a Disaster Relief worker, responding to natural disasters. My father-in-law (Big Ed), who assists me, was shopping for some boots several years ago. He was dead set on buying the same Red Wings he had worn for 30+ years. He was so dead set, that I literally had to walk behind the counter, find a pair of Magnums his size, and drop them in front of him. Since that day, his Magnums have been permanently attached to his feet and traveling the world in the harshest of environments. They so rarely come off that when he does go swimming it looks like he’s still wearing his socks. My wife busted up laughing the other day… I looked up to see what was so funny. There sat Big Ed in his swim trunks and his magnums. She laughingly said, “My gosh!! Those boots have made you two more “family” than marrying me ever did.”

  22. Where I wear my boots

Some people wear their boots defending freedom and the rights and liberties so cherished by the US, others wear their boots to work, keeping our country the strong leader of industry that it is, and I however enjoy wearing my boots in such a way as to make myself look like a complete douche, in public! That’s right, I wear military boots when sneakers or tennis shoes would suffice, and I do it in such a way that everyone knows that I am doing it. I tuck my black cargo pants right into my black boots, and I wear my black patrol cap right over my purple highlighted black pompadour every time I go to shop at Hot Topic. But I don’t wear real U.S. military medals! because being beaten up by a bunch of marines is once enough for me! So, that’s what I do with my boots.

  23. I have tried every athletic shoes, hiking boots and walking shoes and find my tactical boots are the best. I wear my boots when I walk my dogs, ride my Harley and almost everywhere in between. They have proven to be the most comfortable on my feet and cushion my 280 lbs with every step.

  24. I use to be a US Marine, my boots have taken me to the top of Mt Fuji, as well as the rolling hills of Cuba, to the shores of California coast and the deserts of the california as well. Currently im in the army national guard, Moutian Infantry Unit out of Brewer Maine, and we are braving the Rugged terrian in which many boots have failed to stand up too! I have wore many types of boots, in many different enviroments, bottom line! Can never have too many pairs of Boots, never know where that next trail will take you!

  25. I am currently working as a private security contractor in Afghanistan. We share almost all the same risks as ISAF/Coalition forces but without all the “resources” for response in many situations. Additionally, in most cases, it is up to the individual to ensure he is equipped with kit that is appropriate for and can withstand the rigors of the mission and the environment. Our company provides gear -boots included- that is adequate, but leaves it up to individual discretion as to whether certain potions of kit are “upgraded”. Being an ex-infantryman, I have learned that my feet are my ticket out of trouble and if I can keep them comfortable, I can travel farther and faster in situations where the team may need to extract itself from the trouble. Also, our compound is constantly being targeted -at all hours- so we must maintain constant vigilance to safeguard ourselves against attack. In the mid-night hours, I have my rifle, body armor and grab-bag at my side should I need to get up and out of my room. While my grab-bag has boots in it, I almost certainly need to throw on a pair going out the door. Traversing over the rocks, through high grass and possibly over and around other “obstacles” to get to a safe position is not the type of thing to try in flip-flops or sandals -much less barefooted. My current boots are lace-up (speed lace eyelet equipped) but I am positive that the Magnum 8″ Stealth Force SZ would be the perfect boot to have in such situations. The side zipper and the light weight would undoubtedly be perfect for the moment I need to grab and go out the door in seconds -not minutes. Not to mention most likely being forgiving should I need to vacate my room sans socks until I get to a location where I can throw a pair on. A nice looking boot as well. Would love to get a pair for my time spent over here and would most likely wear them back home during my leave as well.

  26. I wear my boots all the time. I run in them, work in them, jump in puddles with my friends in them, hike in them, and – on occasion – swim in them. I wear boots to protect my feet from all kinds of things that would love to put a hole, scratch, or some kind of contusion on my feet, as well as for the superior ankle support and traction that helps to prevent a rolled ankle and numerous other injuries in the field, at home, and at work.

  27. I live in these boots and these boots are a great fit, the are very comfortable. They also hold up great mine are about a year old and I still have wear in them. Excellent boots.

  28. I work for Waste Management in Florida. As a driver, I walk a lot, climb in and out of my truck, walk uneven terrain, and encounter sand, rain, mud, and unseen obstacles under the surface at the landfill. I currently wear a pair of Men’s 6″ Magnum Force CT SZ boots. They have a composite toe that has protected me many times as I roll out large dumpsters. They adequately support my ankles without being confining so my feet stay cooler. The sole does a good job in protecting me from punctures and provides great traction. I wear them 6 days per week and this pair is about 4 months old. They will last at least another 2 months and I use them very aggressively. Best boot on the market for my application! Thanks

  29. I own an exotic pet store, and our store uniform is a safari shirt, BDU pants and boots. I work seven days a week, 12 hours a day, most of them on my feet, all of them in boots. I need boots that can withstand the bite of a five-foot savanna monitor or stepping in a four-inch pile of iguana poop, and still be comfortable to wear and durable.

  30. I wear my boots everyday while pounding the pavement in a prison compound, and there is nothing like a good comfortable boot when you have to get somewhere fast while running on concrete to help a fellow officer or make that terrific bust that you hope gets you recognized. Also to mention the benefit of a good boot that will look good while cruising around on the Harley. I have tried numerous brands so lets hope the magnums can stand up

  31. To the homes of my customers! My business provides emergency pc repair services, I rescue PCs. ;)

PS: We bought our uniforms from BDU.com

  32. I wear my boots while playing football so guys know not to mess with me. I wear them to pubs so guys definitely know not to mess with me.

I wear them to clubs so, women sure as hell wanna mess with me!

  33. Wherever I go, there my Magnum boots are. Fishing, hunting, or hiking. They’re black, so I can’t wear them with my ACUs but when I’m in civvies, they’re the only boot I’ll wear.

  34. I love to hike and my current hiking boots are wearing down really fast and I am looking for great boots and everyone tells me these are great boots. I am looking forward to getting a pair for myself.

  35. I wear my boots when I hike, fish, camp, and shoot. Why? well simply because these are the most hard wearing and comfortable boots Ive ever owned. Nuff said.

  36. I love my Magnum Boots, and wear them almost everyday. I had origionally bought two pairs, being that in the Military there is an old saying that “Two is one and one is none!” But my first pair held up so well that I haven’t even needed to get the other ones out of the box and have since sold them to friend of mine in LE. I have I have a nine to five job in an office building that requires slacks everyday and I have been able to pass them off as dress shoes all the while they are the most comfortable pair of shoes/boots I own. I have been training with them at a park that has running trails with serious terrain next to my office buiding, as my guard unit has been put on notice that we may be deploying to Afgahnistan at any time in the near future. One day I had a “Coat and tie” dinner to be at after a PT session at the above mentioned running park. I got all the way to my girlfriend’s and realized before I jumped in the shower that I had forgotten my dress shoes!! After a shower and a quick wipe down of my Magnum boots, I able to rock those bad boys at dinner with my suit and nobody even noticed that I was wearing tactical training boots!!! These are by far the most versitile/comfortable pair of boots that I own and they are built tough as nails too.

  37. I wear my Magnum boots for Disaster Urban Search and Rescue, on the rubble piles. I’m a Search K-9 Handler. The boots are very comfortable.

  38. I wear my boots just about everywhere but in bed!
They are indispensable as I work in telecommunications safety.
They look great at Civil Air Patrol (USAF aux) activities, parades etc.
I even wear them Sunday at Church!

  39. I wear my boots everywhere; I wear them to school, on the farm, around town, and to work if I could. They’re just the perfect type of footware. I even wore them to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back.

  40. I wear my boots as a volunteer in the Civil Air Patrol. I primarily use them for walking and show and honor-guard use, which mean’s I’m always looking for the most comfortable boots with smooth, full-grain leather. That doesn’t mean I don’t use them for work. I take pride in boots that can blind you on a sunny day, get taken down to bare leather after a rough 72 hour Search and Rescue mission, and be back to their old mirror shine by the next one. From standing at attention for five hours straight, to roughing it in dense brush for several days, my boots see it all, and need to be just as resilient as I am to qualify as my boot of choice.

  41. i wear the hell out of my feet because i airsoft its the closes thing to real war and i go throw about 2 pairs of boots a month but magnum boots they will last for ever so if you dont by magnum boots dont by boots at all i give magnum boots 15 out of 5 stars

  42. I am a volunteer EMT and I wear my boots everywhere. They are very comfortable no matter what terrain I am traversing, from mountainous and wooded areas to snow covered trails. They are very comfortable and light weight I only wish I owned more of them so i wouldn’t have to clean them as often. I own sneakers as well as dress shoes that are no where near as comfortable as my Magnum boots. I spend an inordinate amount of time in my boots and use them on every rescue call I answer as well as around the home while doing work on the house. I thank you and my feet thank you for the great product.

  43. i wear the hell out of my feet because i airsoft its the closes thing to real war and i go throw about 2 pairs of boots a month but magnum boots they will last for ever so if you dont buy magnum boots dont by boots at all i give magnum boots 15 out of 5 stars

  44. I work as an arson investigator and disaster insurance adjuster. My boots are vital everyday of the year. I’m in burned out structures, tornado ravaged areas, and in flooded homes. I see debris of every imaginable shape and sharpness. From post hurricane to earthquake hit places my boots see the full spectrum of conditions. I depend on them to bring me home uninjured and allow me to work in comfort!

  45. I bought my first pair of Magnum boots 4 years ago and I have yet to find a better boot. From hiking a 10 mile trail with the scouts, to pounding the dock at work they have been the best money i ever spent… In the spirit of Trace Adkins me and my magnums are always Rough and Ready and dont give a dam what anyone says!!!!! Yee Haw!!!!!

  46. I wear my Magnum Boots everywhere so my feet dont get sore from kicking ass!

  47. I basically wear my boots everywhere but PT. after PT i strap on my pair of army issue altma boots for my day and then in the evenings i wear magnum 8″ response IIs to work

  48. I’ve been looking for a new pair of boots as my current pair are getting pretty old and from all the great things people have to say about them, these may be the pair.

  49. Having worked in the Fire Department and Police Department, Magnum boots have been the best I have ever worn.

In the Fire service you want a good waterproof boot with good support.

My concern in the Police Department , was how do you run to help the Police Officer you are with.

Prior to that I was using a large heavy duty boot.

Well once again I came back to my Zip Lace Magnum, its like having a Running Shoe on.

I dont do that work any more but I now work with a large Retirement Center, with Medicals and also driving a 18 seat bus. All day long im on the Lift working and also walking in and out of the bus.

My footware has to be Magnum, I cant ever risk a slip and fall when I board a 91year old lady on the Lift. One last thought I would like to thank the comment from the Person that worked at NY on 911. Having been EMS Certified if I had been there I would have been running in when everyone was running out.

Thanks for your time, Sincerely M T Arnold RET

  50. These boots are truly awesome. Besides having a great look, they feeling real good, and have a really good fit that will provide extra support no matter what mission you are on. The boots help to provide confidence in keeping your feet dry and will stand up to the test of time meeting any endurance challege thta you face. You should pick up a pair for whatever your next mission may be.

  51. I teach Soldiers, Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and other First responders through-out or great Nation and around the World. I may be in a class room, in the desert, a muddy field, or on a snow capped mountain. I need a boot that is both rugged and comfortable. It would also be nice to maintain a good look to keep up a professional appearance. If this boot does all the things that the folks who have made these comments say they do, then this is the boot for me. The only way to truly tell is to give them a try. I have worn a Construction, Fire or Duty boot all my professional life. I have tried a lot of them. This just may be the one.

  52. I wear my boots everywhere from work as a Security Officer where I’m constantly walking and dealing with people to the forrest where I’m a hard core mil-sim airsofter. On the job my boots see miles of walking every day protecting the masses at my site and in my spare time I do a lot of running through the woods humping lots of gear and pelting my friends with plastic BB’s. In both places I need a good pair of footwear that wont let me down. I haven’t tried Magnum boots yet because I can’t afford them but from all the reviews I’ve read they sound great. I don’t do anything as great as Kevin and I couldn’t think of anything as witty as Grant but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try.

  53. I wear my boots just about everywhere, because not only do they give me the assuredness of knowing I can always handle the rough and dirty sides of life, they give me the confidence of knowing I have at least one “weapon” if I absolutely need one. You won’t see me defending myself in sneakers! I don’t wear steel-toes or even composite-toes usually, but having the thicker material and better safety of a boot an essential piece of protection for me.

  54. Use them for weedwacking on my property and protection while doing tree trimming etc.

  55. I wear my boots mostly when out in the woods or hiking but have been known to also shop or run in them. The comfort and knowing that a good pair of boots is protecting me from the elements, giving superior traction and enabling me to go further and faster makes doing any mission or leisure activity a breeze. I like waterproof models that breathe well and are light in weight. It is very important to me to have a good boot that will not cause blistering or pressure points when going long distances or over rough terrain… they are a vital part of my tools as much as I hate to admit it I am not the same without them and running barefoot would not be a voluntary option. I also have moccasins and tend to compare that comfort a ground sensing ability to that. Boots that do not squeak or give away my position is also a vital characteristic I seek in new designs.

  56. I work for one of the class 1 railroads and a good pair of boots is key to protecting your feet. I walk on various types of rough terrian from rock the size of golf balls to gravel and wood, concrete, composite materials, every type of terrian in climates from south texas to colorado and lousiana to oregon. Not only terrian but climbing up and down equipment all the time. Because of the conditions and constant rugged terrian its hard to find a verisatle pair of boots that last and protect my feet. Typically i go through 2 to 3 pairs of boots a year. I have found that my various types of combat boots i would get when i was in the military would hold up the best.

  57. I’d wear them pretty much everywhere and every day climate and wardrobe permitting. Nothing quite as comfy as a good pair of boots for everyday wear in my opinion.

  58. I purchased my Magnum boots with side zip about 4 years ago and am still using them to this day. Most of the use is during woodsball/scenario paintball skirmishes. They’ve taking a beating crawling through the woods, running through mud and trekking through shallow streams with jagged rock beds. Sure they show wear and tear but their holding together, keeping my feet dry and warm in the winter play. I also use them in the winter time due to the traction it provides in snow. I love my Magnum boots and will be purchasing another pair when this one dies.

  59. I’ve had my Magnums for over 12 years, and they’ve been the best footwear I can recall. Through mud, flooding, snow, and sand, they have withstood the test of time, and are still going.

  60. I live in the city and walk about 1.5 miles each way to work – sneakers just don’t cut it when it comes to durability or dress, so I wear boots nearly every day. Ankle boots are fine when the weather is nice, but when the sky turns ugly an 8″ waterproof pair is the only way to go. Torrential rains and 1000-year flooding hit Nashville this May, and my boots carried me through swift-flowing stormwater drainage, across saturated, muddy soil, and into deceptively-deep puddles without so much as a leak or slip. A few months earlier, the same pair got me across black ice-covered roads and sidewalks, keeping my toes warm and dry despite freezing slush and biting wind. Even in the heat of summer, a fast-moving storm will completely soak my feet and make the walk home miserable unless I had the good sense to wear tall, waterproof footwear that day. As an engineer, I have to wear steel-toe boots when my work on high-eneragy physics machines occasionally takes me into a hazardous area, but a light, flexible pair for daily use is what I consider the most important thing in my closet.

  61. I use my boots for everything that sandals can’t handle (which is a lot). I’ve worn my current pair while stripping three layers of shingles off of a 50 year old roof, hiked up granite cliffs in the sierras, and even while cutting counter top tile.

But my favorite thing about boots is that you can wear them for anything, and they are tough enough for heavy duty. If you have your boots on, you can do it. Whatever it is, you are ready with your boots. School, Work, you name it. If I do it, I can do it with my boots on.

And mine look great when I dress up for my lady on Saturday nights.

What I value is adaptability, and since boots not only are capable of so many things, but ideal, I can’t resist them! They are so much better than the alternatives, there is no competition.

  62. I am retired military, so have lived a good portion of my life in boots. I also now instruct an airsoft team in military skills and proficiencies. Here in the Pacific Northwest, a good pair of boots is essential.

  63. I wear my boots anytime I am outside working/playing, during the winter or if it’s raining, and it rains a good bit down south. Nothing else can keep my feet warm and dry while I’m getting sweaty and dirty or just getting from point A to point B. I also need a boot with a good sole for sure footing. When I did service work for a propane company the only shoes I wore was my Magnums, and I went through 3 or 4 pairs of the boots. Now they’re the only kind of boot I will buy, period.

  64. As an Air Force ROTC Cadet I wear boots a lot. I will usually wear them daily whether it be going to the BioChemistry lab in my lab coat to work on a protein assay or in my ABUs to do a warrior run or the ropes course. I basically wear them all the time and I love my boots. A good pair of boots is like a best friend, they are always there when you need them.

  65. I live in my boots! In the Inland Northwest we have all types of hazards including shrubs with thorns and rattlesnakes! Being outdoors so much i take no chances.

  66. Kevin’s boot use puts me to shame!

I have a couple of pairs of boots I use for motorcycle riding and concerts, but looking to add a new pair that will be good for all of the above, plus camping, hiking, and other activities like that

  67. I wear them on my feet. Why? This is really the best place they fit.

  68. I own a metal detector dealership in Northwest Alabama(Florence), I hunted for a good comfortable , surefooted, tough, agile, and cool wearing boot to metal detect in , We hunt civil war relics and will walk many miles in a days time.I found the magnum boots (8 inch lace up) several years ago, I’m now on my third pair and will get more when these wear out, These boots offer support for the ankles as well as being light to walk in all day over all kinds of terrain, also my feet stay cool and comfortable in these hot southern summers, I recommend them to anybody that wants good value and comfort for their money, as well as long lasting(Durable and Tough)

  69. I have been involved in volunteer service for over twenty years, responding to disasters such as the 911 attach on New York, te sunami in India and many
tornado and hurricane aftermaths. I have had a pair of Magnum Bots through most of this but the ones I have are getting old. Am currently a member of the North Carolina Emergency Reserves and its the middle of hurrican season !

  70. I work as a bouncer at the world famous Boardy Barn in Hampton Bays N.Y. ,
my station is perched on top of the bar by the DJ, and I leap off the bar many times througought the shift to escort undesirables and mischief-makers out of the establishment so others may have a good time. It is a very busy bar where lots of beer is drank and spilled, my boots take a licking. I’m lucky if they last a single summer. I have sported every brand of workboot, and being a former Marine have worn old and new style combat boots(wich usually last even less then workboots). Besides the low impact of these boots, might make hopping on and off the bar a little easier(after 20 years it gets harder and harder) but with the layer of stale beer on the floor, i think the Ion Mask waterproofing would be put to the ultimate test.

  71. I bought my Magnum boots right before a motorcycle trip last summer. I spent 4 weeks traveling around the USA on a Harley. To make it official, we left from Sandy hook NJ and rolled through 22 states for that trip, including a pitstop at the west coast. My boots took an offical beating form the sun, the rain, hiking in the Black Hills, The Badlands, the Mojave desert, the Teton mountains, snow in the Rockies and any other place I could set foot. Since then. I wear them every day for my work as a machinist and mechanic. They hold up better in grease, oil and hot metal than any others I’ve had before!

  72. I wear at the mountains I climb. I took them to Kilimanjaro, to The Andes, and to the Himalayas. I love boots!

  73. i have been wearing magnum boots for about 10 years now nothing compares to them i am presently the Excutive Officer for a youth organization which is the Young Marines our uniform is woodland camo with black boots we drill 1 night a week and at times weekend encampments on the parade deck in the woods or in parades or just doing community service with our young marines thank you for a great boot mike

  74. I wear my boots everywhere I go, every day. This takes me from my baby’s nursery into and all over an auditorium’s inner workings (catwalks and crawlspaces alike) and from there to all the crazy places I film – homeless shelters in downtown DFW, relief work in Haiti, a trash dump in Ethiopia where HIV positive kids are abandoned, slums in South Africa – and that’ just this month!
